I know summer is still a long way off, but I’m getting ready now, hoping it will bring the sun back a little sooner. I’ve been searching for THE perfect silk trousers for several years. I’ve had trousers made to measure in Vietnam, but the only Vietnamese silk that isn’t too sheer and doesn’t look too pyjama-like is wild silk. I’ve had a few pairs made and I’m still not a fan of the texture.
This year, I want trousers with a tailored waistband, but with legs wide enough that from a distance, they give the impression of a skirt, creating a fluid silhouette — as if you’re floating. I also want silk satin to bring in some light, and not silk crepe, which minimises the silk effect. After a lot of research, I came across these trousers by Italian brand Forte Forte.
This is a piece from the 2024 collection. 96% silk, 4% elastane. Their garments are renowned for their fine fabrics and careful finishing.

If you’re looking for a pair from the current collection, I found this High-waisted wide-leg silk trousers with belted waist – Beige – SWAN by Karma Koman, currently on sale at €138. 100% silk.

To avoid a head-to-toe silk satin look, I think these pair beautifully with a white silk crepe blouse, or a linen one — something with a slightly more matte finish that won’t compete with the trousers for the light.
