[Review] The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 : Why I am not impressed

This post is also available in: Français

A quick article to share with you my great disappointment for this serum which has been awarded by Allure and other prestigious magazines.

What is it? it is a serum containing 3 types of hyaluronic acid, of different molecular sizes. Hyaluronic acid can retain up to 1000 times its weight in water, and the fact of having 3 different molecular sizes allows the active ingredients to penetrate the skin more deeply

When to use it: this serum is used before moisturizing cream and after cleansing the skin. It can be used with other serums of the brand

It’s a bestseller from The Ordinary and I’m very surprised to learn it. Maybe because the people who use it have never used other hyaluronic acid serums?

Why am I disappointed? Because I’ve already used other hyaluronic acid serums and they’re all better than this one: with an almost immediate moisturizing effect. While the plush one, hardly hydrates at all. All the layers I apply behind, whether other serums, creams or make-up, don’t hold at all. The more I spread it out, the more I feel like I’m exfoliating lol 😀

Price : 6,8€ for 30ml (link The Ordinary, link Sephora)

Will I buy back? No! I’ve been in a hurry to sell it because it’s not very moisturizing, and I won’t have any pleasure in using it.

I much prefer the excellent hyaluronic acid lotion from Hada Labo Goku-Jyun, at an unbeatable price (14,9€ for 170ml), much more moisturizing and above all not fluffy.
