[review] Dior Addict Lip Glow Color Reviver Balm

Who suffers from chapped lips in the winter? Me! Who suffers from naturally purple lips without any vitality? Still me!

And then, I heard about the Dior Addict Lip Glow Color Awakening Hydrating Lip Balm (Sephora link). I’d been using it for years before it was highlighted on TikTok by influencers and celebrities.

I was drawn to this product because other users with lips that don’t have a naturally beautiful color swear by it. It moisturizes my lips while giving them a subtle color. And I have to say. I was pleasantly surprised by the results. The balm has a light and melting texture that glides effortlessly on the lips, leaving them soft and hydrated. It’s so pleasant that I even use it before bed, like a mask.

The color effect is very successful. The color is subtle but unique because it adapts to each person’s pH.

I’ve tested several shades, but my favorite is the “001 Pink” shade, a nearly transparent flattering pink hue that suits my Asian complexion perfectly. My lifeless lips regain their color. The optical effect also makes them look fuller.

The Dior Addict Lip Glow also has long-lasting wear. I have to reapply after meals, but that’s it.

What about the packaging? It’s sublime! The tube is elegant and doesn’t open in my bag.

However, there is one drawback that I have to mention. The price is relatively high compared to other lip balms available. I finish one balm every two months, so I’ve ended up buying them at duty-free shops at the airport (I travel a lot) to save money. They have a bundle of lip balms (shades 001 and 004) for 65-68€ (depending on the airport).

The shade 001 Pink is my favorite. It has a very subtle color and adapts perfectly to the pH of your lips (left).

Shade 004 is more nuanced, bringing a little more orange. It also adapts to the pH of the lips but still adds a bit more color than shade 001 (right).

Over time, the lips become supple as they are hydrated, and most importantly, they maintain a natural pink color, even without balm. I often use the Lip Glow when going out without any lipstick. However, if you want to apply a layer of lipstick, it’s better to moisturize with the balm early in the morning and then use the lipstick on top, as lipstick doesn’t last as long when there’s a layer of balm underneath.

I don’t spend a day without my Dior Addict Lip Glow, as no balm can hydrate my lips as effectively and, most importantly, as long-lasting. I highly recommend this godsend product! You can buy it at Sephora (link, €38 to €41 depending on the color). Please note that there are several “lip glow” products from Dior, but you need the lip balm, not the gloss.
