For once, I’m writing an article to advise you against buying a garment. Since my return to Lille, I thought I could now take care of all my laundry myself, including delicate fabrics like silk.
So I bought a silk pajama top from Intimissimi (€89.90, fabric: 95% silk, 5% elastane; details: 100% polyester)… and what a disappointment!
In the photos on the website, the model looks great: the cut seems well-crafted, the result elegant.

In reality, the first button is placed way too low, and the collar doesn’t stay in place at all despite ironing.

I had to add a snap fastener to avoid too deep a neckline, but even then, the shape of the collar remains strange. The pattern seems poorly designed: the collar is pulled inward, which distorts the entire line of the garment.

Another annoying detail: the silk-covered buttons. While certainly pretty, they’re completely unsuitable with classic buttonholes. The buttons slip through buttonholes that are too wide, the top unbuttons itself… For this type of button, you’d need cords instead, like those seen on certain Asian garments.

Most of the seams are done with a serger.

In summary, this top is very poorly cut. I took a size S, slightly roomier for comfortable sleeping (I wear between XS and S), and yet I woke up with shoulder pain, as if the garment was restricting my movements. I’ve never had this problem with other silk pajamas from other brands.
In short, a failed piece, poorly conceived and poorly cut. Absolutely avoid.
