I’m obsessed with sacred geometry right now. I tried to reproduce rose windows with my compass and ruler but for now I can only make simple patterns:
Since I have a Silhouette Cameo 5, I bought designs on Etsy to make paper rose windows.
Tools used:
- Silhouette Cameo 5 (Amazon)
- Canson 160g A3 160g (Amazon)
- 40x50cm frame with mat (lien Amazon)
- 30x30cm frame (lien Amazon)
- Background: gold vinyl & red paper
Here’s what it looks like. Rose window from Notre-Dame de Paris, simple model (3 layers + gold background). You can buy this design on Etsy

West rose window of Amiens Cathedral: 7 layers + red background. You can buy this design on Etsy

I slightly modified the files to get the dimensions I wanted. For Amiens, I preferred to have a round edge vs. the square edge of the design.
I also made a light version with only 4 layers of paper + translucent vellum paper background for the 20cm lightbox version. The other layers have too much small details and cannot be adapted for the 20cm format.
