Papercut Bookmarks and Belgian paper houses

I borrowed many books from the library and since I was short on bookmarks, I made a lot of them. There are two types of bookmarks: hand-drawn with my new rOtring technical pens, and those cut with my Silhouette Cameo 5 machine.

The hand-drawn bookmarks are doodles, to keep my pens alive (they need to be used every day). This is a good thing because it forces me to draw a little bit each day.

For the papercut bookmarks, you can adapt these templates for sale on Etsy (Etsy link); they are made for vinyl so to cut on paper, there are certain details to remove.

I’m taking advantage of having my Silhouette machine properly set up to cut small Belgian paper houses. The files also come from Etsy (Etsy link), the LED wooden bases from Amazon (Amazon link). I found cutting on 300g paper quite tedious, so I switched everything to 160g Canson paper (Amazon link). I also bought a 30x60cm cutting mat, allowing me to cut A3 size. This is super practical especially since these houses take up almost one A3 sheet each. I was tired of applying glue with a brush, so I spread glue over a large surface (a paper recovered from a Colissimo label) and with tweezers, I simply placed the decorative elements on the glue. I’ll let you admire the technique and the result:
