In my lengthy article about adult acne, I talked about the need to rebuild the skin barrier before treating acne spots. But I did not give complete routines. Here is the routine I am currently using to rebuild my skin barrier, which was very damaged from wearing masks & the heat wave during my road trip.
In general, we know that the skin barrier is damaged when the skin is super sore, redder than usual, more inflamed, there may or may not be pimples.
After a rather painful eruption in August, a sudden tightening of the skin and rosacea when I never had it, here I am (finally) without any pimples. My pores are clean. I don’t wear any foundation (just a little lipstick & blush). Recent pimple stains are still there but they are easily camouflaged with concealer if I wanted to.
Here are the pictures before/after 6 weeks with this routine. The pimples are gone, my skin has less texture and doesn’t tighten / hurt anymore, I just have to take care of the spots now.
Note: there are some products in this routine that I have to finish because I bought them expensive, but there are better ones on the market (I specify it each time). Choose the version you prefer, the idea is to give a routine with the type of products to use. You don’t have to use the same products. Every skin is different
